Goji Berry Plants

Many will tell you it takes two years to get fruit from a Goji Berry cutting – Start them out right with Aquaponics and you will have fruit in 4 to 6 months from a cutting.

Step 1    Find someone with a Goji berry plant that will let you take a few branches.  Goji plants propagate most easily from softwood cuttings taken in spring or summer morning when the shrub's moisture content is highest.

Step 2    Snip the branches with at least one node and/or 3 leaves each.  Place  3-4 of the wood cutting in one rockwool or one  in a soil seed starter tray of some sort.  Leaves will fall off  in a couple days leaving you with a bare stick but that is okay they will grow back.

Step 3   Put one sample bottle or one scoop of ZEAL FOR LIFE pink powder in a bucket with about 3-4 gallons of water. In the alternative use Worm Compost Tea or Aquaponic Fish Waste water.

Step 4    Arrange your seed starts in some tray that will hold ½ inc to inch of water.  Fill the tray(s) with water and let the seed starts wick the solution up from the bottom.

Step 5   Keep the seeds starts in a greenhouse or indoors until bare sticks start budding with leaves, topping off water daily with your choice of Solution.
Step 6
When leaves start to bud and tap root starts to grow out of bottom of seed start, replant immediately in your Aquaponic or hydroponic system or in a 1 gallon container of decent soil.
Step 7    For 6 days per week, water with non-chlorinated water (rain harvested or filtered is best) and 1 day per week with your choice of solution.  Keep transplant in partial sunny location for 3 to 4 months. When plant starts to flower put in full sun where bees can get access.  Be sure to cover with bird netting as birds will eat all the berries as soon as they start to get red/orange.
