EQUATORIAL GUINEA

In September 2014, Food Security Co-Operative Association (the non-profit arm of FST) was approached to build a food growing system that was sustainable and that would provide food for communities from 500 to 5000 people in Equatorial Guinea.  FSC presented the Community 500 Aquafarm™ concept, modified to use Low-Tech growing and feeding systems to provide a completely sustainable feed supply of fresh and saltwater fish.  The facility covered 14 acres which included plants and trees grown for fish feed that would sustain a production of 100 metric tones of fish per year and 700 metric tones of vegetables per year.  Due to the breakout of Ebola in the country shortly after the submission, the project was postponed indefinitely. Below is the report.
