INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL

What is Intellectual Capital?

FOOD SECURITY TECHNOLOGY (FST) describes it as the sum of tangible and intangible assets such as patents, brands, trademarks, goodwill, explicit knowledge, inventories, trade secrets, firsthand experience, methods, practices, any proprietary information that the company's personnel contributes to provide a competitive advantage and strategy to introduce the intellectual capital itself .

Where do you find Intellectual Capital?
The answer is in one or more of three places.....  its structures,  its people, its buyers of products and services.

STRUCTURES
FST has numerous pending patents that are of disruptive technology; that is, new technology that will change the way food production is produced worldwide. It has become clear to the founders that the world is ignorant of this groundbreaking technology and therefore, this website is necessary to introduce the existence of FST's Intellectual Capital  that will change the world as we know it.

What is Disruptive Technology?  A disruptive technology is one that displaces an established technology and shakes up the industry or a ground-breaking product that creates a completely new industry. Harvard Business School professor Clayton M. Christensen coined the term disruptive technology. In his 1997 best-selling book, "The Innovator's Dilemma," Christensen separates new technology into two categories: sustaining and disruptive.

What is Disruptive Innovation?  The  disruptive innovation is innovation that helps create a new market and value network, and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network (over a few years or decades), displacing an earlier technology.

FST has waded through mountains of ideas, concepts, inventions, and industry noise before realizing that their humble working models of growing Abalone with Seaweed and Tilapia with Vegetables in closed loop recycled systems that requires NO DISCHARGE is the answer
to Agriculture’s greatest industry problem.

From the "INNOSIGHT" website http://www.innosight.com/services-expertise/expertise/disruptive-innovation.cfm this document explains highlights of FST's superior advantage and position in the aquaculture and vegetable growing.
PEOPLE
What we have done at Food Security Technology is capture the "floating brain power" of our Founders. This industry is a multi-specialized discipline where engineering, biology, finance, business management, and legal bureaucracy must all meet together in total harmony before this project will fly.   It has taken years of tacit knowledge and first hand experience to learn how to weld these disciplines together for the purpose of leveraging food production that will benefit everyone.

Tacit knowledge  is something like riding a bike, playing the piano, driving a car, or hitting a nail with a hammer. Tacit knowledge cannot be sold, and it cannot be transferred through reading a book or the internet. Effective transfer of tacit knowledge generally requires extensive personal contact, regular interaction and trust. This kind of knowledge can only be revealed through practice in a particular context and transmitted through social interaction.

First hand experience of founders started 28 years ago in New Zealand when there was no internet only libraries and Science Journals.  By studying all the latest discoveries in hatchery techniques, feed nutrition, water quality, and fish farming founder applied his own research into growing seaweeds and abalone. Without knowing that recycled Abalone hatchery techniques were "impossible" to do nonetheless, founder established the first recycled closed loop Abalone hatchery and on-growing system, using the seaweed to polish the seawater so it could be recycled without discharge a shock in 1998, to Deakin University of Australia.  Fast forward to California Laguna Beach Founders developed a freshwater recycling system with Tilapia and Vegetables that was a completely closed with no discharge.  The new technology developed here was a household kitchen waste compost that accelerated the decomposition of rotting food and converted it into nitrogen rich liquid plant fertilizer.   The system called the BONANZA is an acronym for Biological Organic Natural Atmospheric Zyme Accelerator.  Founder have built other projects too numerous to mention that has provided them with sufficient first hand experience, to implement all the projects outlined in this website.

BUYERS
FST has identified three categories of Buyers of our Products and Services. Clients purchasing Commercial Aquafarms, Customers purchasing  Residential Aquafarms, Consumers purchasing the food we produce from our Aquafarms.
More and more people around the world are demanding higher quality food that is grown without chemicals or toxins that until now fish and especially shrimp consumers have had NO other choice  but are more than willing to pay extra to avoid the toxic imported produce.
